其實這些手機並不是硬體或作業系統不相容，只是開發商還沒開放而已；根據已知的消息，之後應該會逐步開放。

根據研究人員調查指出，某些在網路上供人下載的 Pokemon GO 遊戲 APK 檔案，是有心人士先行竄改才上傳到網路空間。竄改過的 APK 檔案被加料，增加了一個名為 DroidJack 的遠端存取工具，只要手機安裝了加過料的 Pokemon GO 遊戲 APK 檔，就能讓這些有心人士取得手機的完全控制權，並藉以發動網路攻擊。
