要在一般 Android 裝置上安裝其他應用程式商城，第一件事情就是你必須啟用「透過 APK 檔案安裝應用程式」的功能，因為 Play 商店上不會讓其他應用程式商城的主程式上架，透過下載各商城的 APK 檔案安裝這些應用程式商城是必須的；應用程式商城安裝完畢後，商城內的所有應用程式也必須啟用「透過 APK 檔案安裝應用程式」的功能才能安裝。

Amazon Appstore 的 APK 檔案官方下載位置為 www.amazon.com/getappstore；要使用該應用程式商城，必須註冊美國 Amazon 帳號 (不需信用卡免費註冊)。

這次活動中工具類應用程式較少，主要以幼教遊戲為主。

Amazon 帳號也可以用於 Kindle 應用程式，拿來閱讀電子書還不錯。
